Job brief

This position will be responsible for corresponding with and meeting the needs of member credit unions, as well as accurately keeping a record of their financial transactions. Perform user administration for all member-facing websites and applications. Send administrative forms to member credit unions. Process administrative forms and requests in a timely and accurate manner. Communicate by telephone/email regarding all aspects of the credit union’s relationships with the corporate. Create records of credit unions’ financial transactions. Research and resolve discrepancies between general ledger accounts and suspense entries. Work from a standard office setting; no other travel required.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required

  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Familiar with related electronic data processing systems
  • Ability to produce and maintain accurate records of financial transactions and credit union correspondence
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented

Preferred Education and Experience

High School diploma. 1-2 years experience as a Customer Service Representative or progressive experience using electronic data processing systems or in the banking industry. Experience in business administration or bookkeeping a plus.

POSITION SUMMARY

Working in conjunction with Management, the incumbent will develop and maintain a strong trusted advisor relationship with key credit union stakeholders and executives to fully understand their business strategy and measurements for success with integrity and reliability. Identify and develop new opportunities for expanding member growth and product penetration. Responsible for meeting and exceeding sales goals and stated strategic initiatives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct in-person and/or virtual visits and communication with potential and existing members
  • Increase member portfolio depth and relationship “stickiness”
  • Improve product and service penetration and profitability
  • Forecast, maintain, and track key account metrics
  • Obtain knowledge of VolCorp products and services for member demonstration
  • Prepare detailed cost analysis/proposals and close opportunities
  • Track sales funnel status and member relationship activity within VolCorp’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Attend events affiliated with Credit Union Movement e.g. leagues, chapter meetings, conferences, etc

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or equivalent relevant experience with 5+ years’ progressive business development and/or financial services industry experience.

  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environment
  • Extensive business development experience and demonstrated closure rates
  • Exceptional listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skillsets
  • Experience with CRM systems and overall account management

TRAVEL DEMANDS

Travel required – approximately 60%, (mostly within driving range throughout the state of Tennessee.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Consultant role will be responsible for performing Supervisory Committee Annual Audits, Interim Audits and member verification services for credit union clients. The role may be required to engage in other consulting engagements related to a credit union’s accounting function. This role will be required to develop strong and long-term relationships with current and potential member credit unions.

This position may be required to perform duties for VolCorp’s as well.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Category – Essential

85% Perform audits based upon guidance provided by NCUA and state regulations for Supervisory Committee Audits and interim audits. Use strong analytic skills and accuracy to determine findings from the procedures completed. Document audit procedures using detailed workpapers developed internally or from credit union provided documents. Communicate with credit union client and direct supervisor of the audit process and all issues that may arise. Develop audit report and present to credit union client.

10% Develop relationships with current and potential credit unions clients. Provide guidance to credit union clients upon request, outside of the audit engagement.

5% Perform other duties as assigned for either Symphony or VolCorp.

RELATED DUTIES:

  • Perform other assignments and special projects as directed by the Symphony President/CEO or VolCorp’s Senior Leadership Team members.
  • Adhere to company and governmental policies and regulations, including those relating to Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Plan compliance.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Job brief

Responsible for administering payroll functions and supporting accounting functions for the corporate. In addition to holding responsibility for routine payroll functions, the position is responsible for non-routine but payroll-associated duties. The position is expected to perform accounting duties and back-up other positions within the department. The role requires both payroll and accounting knowledge.

Principal Responsibilities

45% Payroll related functions including but not limited to:

  • Processing payroll cycles
  • Monitoring, maintaining, and reporting payroll related information and accounts
  • Research discrepancies, variances, and other issues in employee or accounting records associated with payroll. Resolve issues independently or present findings to management if appropriate.
  • Maintain payroll procedures manual and perform record retention duties
  • Assist auditors and examiners with payroll related documentation
  • Other payroll-related activities as necessary

55% Accounting related functions including but not limited to:

  • Posting, reconciliation, and analysis of VolCorp general ledger and member accounts
  • Assist with maintaining logs, recons, subsidiary ledgers, reports, and other necessary accounting records
  • Verify accounting records for mathematical accuracy, backup documentation, and proper account coding
  • Maintain competency and back up other duties within the accounting department. This could include cash management, billing, investment accounting, accounts payable, and aspects of financial reporting.
  • Assist with other routine accounting duties when necessary

Related Duties

  • Perform other related duties and special assignments as requested by management
  • Understanding of policies, procedures and software within the accounting and human resources departments
  • Comply with GAAP, NCUA Regulation 704, and HR-related, and other governmental regulations
  • Adhere to company policies

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Accounting degree preferred, or equivalent demonstrable experience directly related to bookkeeping, accounting, and/or payroll
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the composition of financial statements
  • Knowledge of payroll, human resources, and employee benefit practices
  • Must be detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Knowledge of personal computers and financial software applications
