Mike Abrashoff
It’s Your Ship – Achieving Breakthrough Performance

When Mike Abrashoff took command of the USS Benfold, morale was low, turnover was high and the ship’s performance ranked near the bottom of the Pacific Fleet. Just twelve months later Benfold was ranked #1 – using the very same crew. The lesson was clear – leadership matters and culture is everything. This inspiring talk is for every individual and organization looking for practical and usable ways to take organizational performance to new heights. In Mike’s case, he realized that before the ship’s performance could change, he had to change his leadership style. Mike worked to create a culture of trust and empower his crew to take charge and use ingenuity and initiative to improve every aspect of the way things were done. Top down leadership is dead, so when the crew would present a problem, Mike became famous for responding “What would YOU do? It’s YOUR ship!” Mike’s presentation leaves audiences with the tools and inspiration to accomplish big goals.

Employment Law Updates

“Kim Vance has a ‘very broad knowledge’ of labor and employment law and is lauded for her ‘hands-on’ experience. She has extensive experience in HR and management training, in addition to noteworthy litigation experience.”

- Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers 2018

“Kim Vance is described by sources as ‘a terrific problem solver.’ She is noted for her impressive counseling and defense of management teams before the EEOC and the Tennessee Human Rights Commission.”

- Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers 2013

“Kim is unique. She has the mind of a business owner and the intellect of a great lawyer. This combination has benefited our company in very meaningful ways,” said Joe Scarlett, former Chairman and CEO of Tractor Supply Company, where Ms. Vance served as General Counsel previously.

In addition to these accolades, Kim Vance brings life to whatever topic she presents. She keeps VolCorp’s Management Staff abreast of the most current information on HR law by meeting with them on a semiannual basis. We’re anxious for our VolCorp members to hear Kim speak!

Photo of Elliot Eisenberg

Elliot Eisenberg
The Economic Forecast

In this always entertaining and very informative presentation on the economy that frequently begins with a fun and fast moving “top ten list” Dr. Eisenberg discusses how GDP will perform, what interest rates will do, how the labor market will behave, how much firms will spend, how the residential housing sector and real estate in general will perform and how a whole host of other economic variables (including incomes, auto sales, savings rates, energy prices, exports, government spending and so on) are bound to impact the economy this year (no sugar coating), and why! Learn how to keep the (economic) forest in your view and not lose sight for the (data) trees!

Explore the transformations already happening in the industry and discover ways you can join the AI Revolution today!

Blockbuster Cybersecurity in a Zero-Trust World

Hackers don’t just adapt to change; they bank on it. Has your mindset evolved? The rapid expansion of remote workforces, ransomware gangs, cloud jacking, IoT hacking, supply chain attacks, social engineering and disinformation campaigns have altered the way we must defend our data, reputation, and profits. Cybersecurity doesn’t grow from shinier tools, but from the powerful intersection between humans and technology. In this keynote, John leverages potent lessons learned from losing everything to cybercrime and decades of real-world experience to build a Blockbuster Framework for analyzing, organizing, and communicating your powerful cyber defense strategy.
