Volunteer Corporate Credit Union Welcomes New Directors to their Board

NASHVILLE, TN - At its recent annual meeting held in Nashville, Tennessee, Volunteer Corporate Credit Union (VolCorp) filled two vacant directors’ positions to their board:
Since 1999, John Simmonds, President/CEO of Southeast Financial Credit Union, Nashville, Tennessee, with its ten branch locations throughout the state, has served in the financial services industry for thirty-plus years. Mr. Simmonds currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions. He has also served as a board member for the American Cancer Society, Hoosier Capitol Girl Scouts, and Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Blake Strickland, President/CEO of Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, Chattanooga, Tennessee, with its twelve branch locations throughout the state, has served in several positions within his credit union for twenty-six years. In 1999, he was promoted to his current CEO position. Active in his community, Mr. Strickland has served on the River Valley Chapter of the March of Dimes, the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Credit Union Executive Society.
Additionally, VolCorp announced the election of the following officers to its board: Robert Arick, Chairman (Memphis Publishing Co. CU); Wanda Mason, Vice Chairman (The CU for Robertson County); David Atkinson, Treasurer (Eastman CU); Karen Woodall, Secretary (UAW Local 1853 FCU). Other board members include: Wayne Hope, Director (K-25 FCU); Karen Jordan, Director (P & G Jackson Employees Federal CU); and Nancy Walker, Director (MPD Employees CU).
